Dear St. John's Family,
I hope you and your family have had a meaningful Christmas season and a Happy New Year.
I want to thank you for your sacrifice and patience as we have forgone in-person worship since December 13, as a gift of love to all the medical professionals who care for us. Please know that, though incredibly difficult, this offering of love has provided a powerful Christian witness to many who are overworked and weary from an overwhelming time. Thank you for your willingness to live out Christ's example of sacrificial love.
While the Christmas season has passed and heightened mitigation measures have lapsed, significant concern remains regarding the consistently high number of new COVID cases and a potential spike after holiday travel. After prayer and consultation with the Leadership Board, I feel it is very important to address those risks and concerns in our approach for resuming in-person worship. Based on this, we intend to resume in-person worship attendance on Sunday, January 24, 2021.
I recognize the continued sacrifice of physically gathering for worship is not easy. I also know that our Lord is glorified by our sacrificial act of love for the vulnerable in our community and the medical workers who need our help in suppressing the spread of a terrible virus. Thank you for your patience and your willingness to live out your faith through sacrificial love in this challenging time.
Grace and Peace,
