Rev. Janice A. Puliti
Pastor Janice is the Lead Pastor at St. John’s. She was appointed in 2001 as Associate Pastor and re-appointed in 2008 to serve as Lead Pastor. She is a graduate of Neumann College (B.S.N.) and the University of Pennsylvania (M.S.N.) and served as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in both clinics and hospice settings before responding to God’s call to ordained ministry. Janice received her M.Div. from Palmer Seminary and is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. She has two children, Christopher (who is deceased) and Allison, who lives in Delaware County. Janice loves to spend time with her grandchildren, and also with her sheltie! She feels especially blessed to be serving St. John’s and the surrounding community, and believes that we truly are a church family of “Open Arms and Serving Hands, Transforming Lives Through Christ.”
Mrs. Ruth Portzline, CLM
Ruth moved to our area from West Virginia in June of 2011 to be closer to her daughter/son-in-law and three beautiful granddaughters! Before moving here, she held various positions in her local United Methodist church, was active on the District and Conference level, and was the director of the Fayetteville Food Pantry. In addition, Ruth was certified as a Lay Speaker and served as Lay Pastor of Harvey Chapel United Methodist Church, a small congregation where she preached and led worship each Sunday, provided pastoral care and did other pastoral duties. She is a Certified Lay Minister in our Conference and has been assigned to St. John’s as Assistant Pastor. She is passionate about reaching out, sharing the Gospel, and helping people find new life in Christ
Pastor Erin is an ordained deacon currently serving her secondary appointment at St. John’s. Erin’s primary appointment is as a full-time chaplain at Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries’ Twining Village, a continuing care retirement community in nearby Holland. From 2008-2011, Erin served as worship leader and licensed local pastor at St. John’s before leaving to enter seminary full-time in the Fall of 2011. Erin graduated from Moravian Theological Seminary in 2013 with an MA in Theological Studies. After completing Clinical Pastoral Education, Erin began her ministry at Twining, serving her secondary appointment at Chalfont United Methodist. Now back at St. John’s, Erin serves as coordinator and facilitator of GriefShare, a Christ-centered grief support program, and aspires to encourage older adults in service ministries with their peers. She also assists the pastoral team by serving Holy Communion and leading worship as needed. Erin lives in Warwick with her cat Violet; she has one daughter, Elizabeth, who resides in Lancaster. As a deacon, Erin’s specific call is to ministries of compassion and justice which bridge the church to the hurting, lost, and marginalized in our world.
Rev. Susan C. Czarnecki
Pastor for Adult Ministries
Pastor Sue, an ordained elder, comes to St. John’s after retiring from pastoral ministry in the Peninsula- Delaware and Eastern PA Conferences in 2017. Since coming here she has led Bible studies, participated in our Living Nativity, and Family Promise. She is a graduate of Eastern Seminary (M.Div.) Before responding to God’s call, she worked as a RN for over 30 years. She graduated from Community College of Philadelphia (A.A.S. in Nursing), Thomas Jefferson University (B.S.N.) and Widener University (M.S.N-Burn, Emergency, Trauma). During her time in nursing, she held many lay positions in her local churches—served on many different committees, helped at the bazaars, SPRC liaison to student pastor, lay leader, and representative to Annual Conference, before entering ministry. Most of her career was spent in the ER and has enough stories to write a book. Sue has been married to Paul since 1977. They have 3 adult children: Jennifer (Bill), Sharon (Brian), and Karen (Mike). They to have 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She enjoys helping others understand the Bible better to assist them in their walk with God through the example of Jesus’ life; mentoring others to improve their leadership skills to keep the church strong; and pastoral counseling and spiritual direction.
Mr. David Bigam
Director of Children and Youth Ministries
David has been a member of St. John’s for nearly 20 years. Before taking over as the youth director in August of 2010, David was a welder/machinist for 30 years, also serving 9 years in the Pa. National Guard. David and his wife Carol taught children’s Sunday school, where Carol still helps out. His goal is to build an atmosphere for the youth to feel safe and to help show them their purpose with God. He has 2 grown children, Katie and Dale and loves to sing Christmas carols all year long.
Mr. Roy Nelson
Director of Music Ministries
Roy Nelson has served as Director of Music Ministries for more than 26 years at St. John’s. He directs our Four Vocal and Four Handbell Choirs. In addition to directing at St. John’s, Roy has served as music director in the Neshaminy School District for 33 years, and was Vocal Music Director at Villa Joseph Marie High School for 5 years. He also directs our Summer Music Camp, Festival of Carols and Broadway Night.

Mr. Lou Lescas
Lou Lescas has been a member of St John’s since 1984. He brings a wealth of small business experience to this position. For 28 years, he worked for, then owned a roller skating entertainment center. He also held a real estate license for 16 years. Today he owns a small contracting business. He volunteered as the Financial Secretary since 2009, and sat on the Finance Committee from 2008-2014. He has been active with the Eastwick Food Bank Mission House for over 10 years. Since 2014, his position as Church Administrator has entailed operating as the Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and building overseer. Additionally, this has included maintaining relationships with vendors and tenants, and in general just making sure everything works properly.
Mrs. Lara Bolte
Lara recently joined our staff after a handful of years of staying home with her children. Prior to starting her family and moving to Bucks County, Lara worked as a bankruptcy attorney in Atlanta, Georgia and then as a legal recruiter in Philadelphia. She lives in Richboro with her husband Rob, her wild boys Jonah (age 7) and Robert (age 4), her dog Chester, and her cats Charlie and Little Kitty. In her spare time, Lara enjoys reading, knitting, and perfecting her grilling techniques. She's also a beginner at CrossFit (which would surprise you if you knew her general distaste for exercising). An intellectually curious person by nature, Lara has earned a B.A. in English Literature and a J.D. from Florida State University, and has completed significant coursework toward a Masters degree in Secondary Education from St. Joseph's University.
