Pastor's Reflection - 6/21/18
Immigration:
such a troubling topic in recent days. It's all over the news: a
zero-tolerance policy resulting not only in arrests, but with
children and families being separated at the U.S.-Mexico
border.
One
of the things we want to keep in mind is that many of these
families are fleeing for a r...

About three weeks ago, Fed Ex delivered a package to my house.
The problem was that it had an entirely different name and
address on it. And the address wasn't even in the same
town.
So I immediately contacted Fed Ex and was told they would pick it
up the following day....

As I do each year around this time, I'm at Sandy Cove
Ministries in North East, MD for a 2-day Mini-Sabbatical with
other ministry leaders, plus I've added one additional day as a
"personal retreat". Besides rest and connecting with God, I try
to do some sermon planning for the next y...

Carol and Hank, my sister and brother-in-law, own a
camper at a resort in Maryland located on the Elk River as it
opens onto the Chesapeake Bay. They went down last Wednesday

Sometimes there is a sight so amazing that you just can't help

this afternoon, and just as I was coming ...

of the excursion was "Lamanai Mayan Ruins and Riverboat
Excursion". It consisted of a one hour b...

Pastor's Reflection
A couple of years ago St. John's had a whole church
program that emphasized how much we love our church. We
even had t-shirts made that said, "Ask me why I love my
church."

Pastor's Reflection
Once again, our nation is in shock and mourning. A
young man with a significant history of mental illness pulled up
to a Waffle House Restaurant outside of Nashville, opened fire in
the parking lot with his AR-15 assault rifle, then proceeded to
enter the restaurant. In the pr...

My heart goes out to those who
were on that flight this week that made an emergency landing in
Philadelphia due to what is referred to as an uncontained engine
failure. My heart also goes out to the family and friends of the
passenger who sustained a fatal injury. The description of the
